Daffodil Meadows of Gaume

About this spectacle

Each spring, the meadows and woodland edges of the Gaume region — the southernmost tip of Belgium, near the Luxembourg border — transform into sweeping carpets of wild daffodils. Clusters of pale-yellow blooms stretch across open grasslands and along stream valleys, their delicate scent carried on cool April air. The landscape is quiet and rural, punctuated by the hum of early pollinators and the songs of returning birds. Visitors walk narrow country lanes and field paths, pausing to take in the contrast of golden flowers against fresh green grass and bare hedgerows just coming into bud. The spectacle is fleeting — typically lasting only two to three weeks — making each visit feel like catching something rare and unhurried.
