Boseong Green Tea Fields
Boseong's terraced green tea fields roll down misty hillsides in perfect sculpted rows — luminous green in spring, snow-dusted in winter.
About this spectacle
The rolling hillsides of Boseong are blanketed in neatly sculpted rows of green tea bushes that cascade down terraced slopes like a living tapestry. Visitors walk narrow paths between the hedgerows, brushing fingertips against the dense, waxy leaves and inhaling the clean, faintly grassy scent that hangs in the humid air. In spring the new flush of bright lime-green growth contrasts sharply against the darker mature leaves, creating waves of color that shift with the light through the day. Morning mist frequently pools in the valleys between the terraces, lending the scene a soft, atmospheric quality. In winter, a dusting of snow outlines each sculpted row in white against the deep evergreen, a photographic signature unique to Boseong. The site is a working farm and tea production center, so the agricultural rhythm of pruning, harvesting, and processing is part of the sensory backdrop throughout the year.
