About this spectacle

The Wolchulsan Cloud Bridge Ridge offers one of South Korea's most dramatic high-altitude walking experiences. Perched along the rugged granite peaks of Wolchulsan National Park in South Jeolla Province, the ridge trail culminates at a suspended metal bridge — the Gu름다리(Cloud Bridge) — strung between two rocky summits. Visitors walk across open sky with sheer drops on either side, the Korean countryside stretching below through valleys and forested slopes. On clear mornings the granite peaks catch golden light while mist sometimes pools in the valleys below, giving the bridge its name. The exposed ridge demands steady footing along narrow paths with fixed chains and metal handrails. Autumn brings blazing foliage to the hillsides, while spring sees fresh green growth coating the lower slopes. The sense of exposure, wind, and open panorama makes this a memorable physical and visual experience that rewards those willing to climb.
