Triberg Waterfalls — Germany
Germany's highest waterfalls cascade through the Black Forest in a dramatic multi-tiered rush of white water and ancient spruce scenery.
About this spectacle
The Triberg Waterfalls tumble through dense Black Forest scenery in a series of cascading drops, the water rushing white against dark granite and moss-covered rock. Visitors follow a well-maintained trail that winds upward through ancient spruce forest, the roar of the falls growing louder with each switchback. Spray mists the air on warm days, and in winter the cascade partially freezes into dramatic ice formations draped over the rock face. Autumn colours frame the falls in amber and gold, while spring snowmelt swells the flow to its most powerful. The surrounding forest amplifies every sound — rushing water, birdsong, wind through the canopy — creating a fully immersive natural experience that rewards slow, attentive walking.
