Sliding Rock Pisgah

Sliding Rock is a natural waterslide in Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina, where a broad, smooth rock face channels a rushing mountain stream into a pool below. Visitors launch themselves down the slick stone surface, carried by the constant flow of cold Appalachian water that rarely warms above 55°F even in summer. The roar of moving water, the shock of the cold plunge pool, and the laughter of other visitors create a lively, refreshing atmosphere.
