Réserve Cousteau — Îlets Pigeon
Cousteau's legendary Caribbean dive reserve: twin volcanic islets ringed by coral gardens, turtles, and tropical fish in clear warm water.
About this spectacle
The Réserve Cousteau surrounds the twin Îlets Pigeon off the west coast of Guadeloupe, a volcanic island pair rising from the Caribbean Sea. Made famous by Jacques Cousteau, who declared it one of the world's ten best dive sites, the reserve shelters an extraordinary underwater world of coral gardens, sea fans, and sponges teeming with tropical fish, sea turtles, and rays. Snorkelers at the surface glimpse the vivid colours below, while divers descend through warm, clear water along dramatic volcanic drop-offs and walls draped in marine life. Above water, the islets themselves are lush and steep, creating a dramatic silhouette against the turquoise bay. The gentle current, warm temperatures, and rich biodiversity make each visit feel like an immersion into a living aquarium, accessible to a wide range of experience levels.
