About this spectacle

Reinebringen is a mountain peak in the Lofoten Islands of Norway, rising above the iconic fishing village of Reine. Visitors who make the steep ascent are rewarded with sweeping panoramic views over the dramatic fjord landscape, jagged peaks, and the red and yellow rorbu cabins clustered at the water's edge. In the depths of winter the site sits well above the Arctic Circle, offering potential glimpses of the Northern Lights arcing over the dark fjord below — one of the more accessible elevated vantage points for aurora watching in Lofoten. In summer, the midnight sun bathes the peaks and water in a warm golden glow that lingers for hours. The combination of rugged Arctic scenery, the interplay of light on water and rock, and the sheer verticality of the landscape makes this one of Norway's most visually arresting viewpoints.
