Natural Bridge Virginia
A towering 215-foot limestone arch spanning Cedar Creek in Virginia's Blue Ridge — one of the most dramatic natural stone bridges in eastern North America.
About this spectacle
Natural Bridge is a massive limestone arch standing over Cedar Creek in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Visitors walk down a paved path into a gorge to stand beneath the span, looking up at the curved stone ceiling soaring overhead — a genuinely awe-inspiring scale of natural sculpture. The creek murmurs below, ferns and mosses cling to the damp rock walls, and the filtered light creates a cool, cathedral-like atmosphere. The surrounding forest trail continues past the bridge to Lace Waterfall and Monacan Village, rewarding those who linger. In all seasons the rock itself is constant, though autumn foliage frames it brilliantly and spring greenery softens the gorge walls. The site is now a Virginia State Park, meaning paved trails and interpretive signage are present throughout.
