The Nacimiento del Río Cuervo is the spectacular source of the Cuervo River, tucked within the Serrania de Cuenca in central Spain. Visitors encounter a series of moss-draped cascades tumbling over tufa limestone formations, where mineral-rich water creates vivid emerald and gold tones across the rock faces. The sound of rushing water fills the gorge as springs emerge directly from the cliff, feeding pools that shimmer in filtered forest light. Surrounding beech and pine woodland frames the scene, intensifying the sense of a hidden, primordial place. The cascades are most dramatic in late winter and spring when snowmelt swells the flow, though even in summer the lush vegetation keeps the site green and cool. Short walking trails wind close to the falls, allowing visitors to observe the travertine formations and the way mineral deposits gradually reshape the landscape over time.
