About this spectacle

Misol-Há is a single-drop waterfall in the lush jungle of Chiapas, where a curtain of white water plunges roughly 35 metres into a wide turquoise pool framed by dense tropical vegetation. Visitors walk a short path through the humid rainforest, hearing the roar grow louder before the falls come into view. A narrow trail winds behind the cascade, allowing walkers to step into a cool, mist-drenched grotto and peer out through the falling veil of water — a moment of sensory immersion that few waterfalls offer. The surrounding forest hums with birdsong and insect life, and sunlight filters through the canopy to scatter rainbows in the spray. The pool at the base invites swimming, and the vivid greens of the jungle backdrop give the scene exceptional photographic depth. A small visitor infrastructure — steps, railings, and a footpath — makes the site accessible to most travellers without strenuous effort.
