Miruša Waterfalls — Kosovo
A stunning series of travertine waterfalls and luminous turquoise pools hidden inside a dramatic limestone canyon in Kosovo.
About this spectacle
The Miruša Waterfalls cascade through a dramatic limestone canyon in central Kosovo, where the Miruša River tumbles over a series of travertine steps and pools. Visitors walk along a rocky gorge trail, surrounded by lush vegetation and the constant rush of white water. Each pool below the falls glows a remarkable turquoise-green, inviting swimmers in warmer months. The canyon walls rise steeply on either side, creating an intimate, enclosed atmosphere that amplifies the sound of falling water. The succession of falls — some gentle and wide, others narrow and forceful — rewards exploration at every bend. Birdsong mingles with the roar of water, and sunlight filtering through the canopy lights up the spray. It is one of the most visually striking natural gorge systems in the Western Balkans, yet remains relatively undiscovered by international visitors.
