About this spectacle

The Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley in Andorra offers one of the most pristine and undisturbed high-mountain landscapes in the Pyrenees. Walkers move through glacially carved terrain past rushing streams, boulder fields, and alpine meadows that burst with wildflowers in summer. The valley rises steeply from forested lower slopes into open high-altitude plateaus where granite peaks pierce the sky. The silence is profound — only wind, water, and birdsong accompany the experience. Stone shepherd shelters dot the landscape, remnants of centuries of pastoral life. The view from the upper reaches stretches across Andorra and into surrounding ranges, offering a panorama that rewards every step of the ascent.
