Lodh Falls — India
One of Jharkhand's tallest and most dramatic waterfalls, Lodh Falls plunges through dense jungle in a remote forested gorge.
About this spectacle
Lodh Falls, also known as Burhaghat Falls, plunges dramatically through the forested hills of Jharkhand's Latehar district, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in the state. Visitors approach through dense sal forest, arriving at a viewpoint where the falls crash into a rocky gorge below, filling the air with a constant roar and a cool mist. The surrounding jungle is alive with birdsong, and the sight of white water slicing through layers of ancient rock against a green canopy is visually striking. The monsoon season transforms the falls into a thundering torrent, while winter offers clearer views and more comfortable conditions for exploration. The sense of remoteness and the undisturbed forest setting give the site a raw, unspoiled character rarely found near accessible waterfalls.
