About this spectacle

Ebor Falls is a dramatic two-tiered waterfall on the Guy Fawkes River in the New England Tablelands of New South Wales. Visitors stand at cliff-edge lookouts and watch the river plunge into a deep basalt gorge, with mist rising from the lower falls to catch morning light. The surrounding landscape of open grassy woodland and volcanic escarpment gives the scene a raw, windswept character. The sound of cascading water fills the air, and on calm days a faint rainbow forms in the spray. The falls are accessible from a short walking track from a roadside parking area on the Waterfall Way, making them a popular stop for travellers crossing the tablelands. Wildlife including wallabies and various bird species can be spotted on the gorge edges, and the elevated plateau setting offers sweeping views across the escarpment country.
