Cuyahoga Brandywine Falls
One of Ohio's most iconic waterfalls, Brandywine Falls drops dramatically through a forested gorge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park year-round.
About this spectacle
Brandywine Falls is one of the most dramatic waterfalls in the American Midwest, plunging approximately 65 feet over a layered shale and sandstone ledge within Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Visitors approach via a well-maintained boardwalk trail that winds through a forested gorge, offering a series of increasingly close views of the cascade as it thunders into the pool below. The roar of falling water fills the ravine, and in spring the surrounding woodland bursts with wildflowers and fresh foliage. In winter the falls partially freeze, creating a stunning curtain of ice formations around the active water flow. A covered bridge nearby adds a picturesque element to the experience. The boardwalk provides overlook platforms at multiple heights, making this an accessible and rewarding natural spectacle for visitors of all ages and fitness levels.
