Cuquenan Falls (also known as Kukenán or Cuquenan) plunges from the rim of Kukenán tepui in the Gran Sabana region of Bolívar State, Venezuela. Visitors witness a vast curtain of white water tumbling hundreds of metres into the cloud-draped rainforest below, surrounded by the dramatic flat-topped sandstone mesas that define this ancient landscape. The roar of falling water mingles with the calls of tropical birds, and the perpetual mist at the base nourishes lush vegetation. Reaching the falls involves trekking across the savannah and through the Gran Sabana, meaning the journey itself is part of the spectacle — golden grasslands, scattered moriche palms, and the looming silhouettes of tepuis on the horizon. Clouds frequently wrap the upper cliffs, lending the scene an otherworldly, mythic atmosphere that rewards patient observers.
