Cascade de Coo
One of Belgium's most impressive natural waterfalls, plunging through an Ardennes gorge with year-round flow and dramatic seasonal surges.
About this spectacle
Cascade de Coo is a natural waterfall located in the Ardennes region of Belgium — not the Netherlands, despite the NL country code in the input. The falls tumble through a wooded gorge carved by the Amblève river, creating a dramatic curtain of white water that is one of the most celebrated natural water features in Belgium. Visitors hear the roar of the cascade before they see it, and the surrounding forested hillsides frame the scene in green or autumn gold depending on the season. A short walking path leads to viewing areas close to the base of the falls, where mist drifts across the rocks. The volume and drama of the cascade vary with rainfall and snowmelt, making spring and late autumn particularly impressive. The area around Coo also features an amusement park and a chairlift that offers elevated views over the waterfall and valley.
